U.S.S. Indianapolis, Lost for 72 Years, Is Found

In July, 1945 the USS Indianapolis was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine. Based on Doug’s reporting in his book In Harm’s Way, the ship sank in about 12 minutes, killing some 300 sailors, and sending some 900 adrift in a burning sea. In August 2017, the wreckage of the ship was found.
